Colorado-- My happy place.

Every Square Inch
I’m sitting on top of a mountain, miles away from anyone– and I realize that all that really matters– are relationships with other people, and our own limited perspective of the world around us. And all I want to do is explore every square inch so that I can have a better understanding, an understanding of self, and of others. I take a drink from a crisp, snow melt stream and nothing tastes more pure. The sunshine lines the mountains with a crest of gold. The Earth suddenly stands still. I…

Colors of Colorado—It’s Where you Want to Be.
Happy. That’s what I remember feeling looking west when leaving the Denver airport. Here lies the first glimpse of the mountain chain that I’ve grown the most familiar with. Colorado—It’s Where you Want to Be. I’m capitalizing that word, Be, because it’s so much more than simply existing, & it’s much more than only surviving. To this day, researchers still cannot figure out why the entire civilization just up-and-disappeared, with no clues as to why. What was especially neat about this spot was its proximity to the four corners . . . where Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado, and Utah meet. You can stand in four places at once. Even more interesting than…

A Short Stay in Denver
Make sure to check out the freaky apocalyptic mural at the airport upon arrival. Grim reaper and world order anybody? Gives me chills. The Rockies loom in the distance. For me, their view ignited relaxation and inner peace. Away from work, away from school, and away from the humidity that makes my hair look like a complete teased train wreck every day in Southern Louisiana (and best of all—away from the heat—an escape!). I’m excited to be back in Colorado, this is where I spent time during my childhood summers. The feel of Denver reminds me a bit of home (Dallas), Denver is a smaller Dallas, with a view. Unique…
