    My favorite Places Around Banff

I’ll give it to you straight– I went to Banff at the wrong time of year. The beginning of June was packed. Lake Louise wasn’t as serene as the Pintrest pictures tried to fool me. I was elbow deep fighting bus tourists for a photo op. But it wasn’t my fault: while researching this trip, I had a difficult time figuring out what to see and do in the area because there wasn’t concise online information available. It was also difficult to figure out what the park boundaries were. See the above map for a clear understanding (map credit to blog Where We Be who had the most comprehensive online…

Scenic Bear Viewing at Lake Clark, Alaska

Very rarely do I come home and immediately start writing– but I can’t contain myself . . . you won’t believe what I did today! All my life I have been an animal lover, fascinated by wildlife behavior on nature shows. I had never actually seen a brown bear in the wild. Today my inner seven year old girl squealed as I became that wildlife photographer. Now I just had to be brave enough to actually do it. My guide, Martin, from Scenic Bear Viewing in Homer, Alaska took me out in his plane to Lake Clark National Park where we photographed wild Alaskan Coastal Brown Bears in their natural…

    Vancouver Island & Telegraph Cove

∴Mountain Ranges & Sunshine∴ There’s something about the way the light shines on Vancouver Island. Even the weeds on the side of the road are beautiful. The green that hits you when you step off of the ferry is unreal. The island is roughly the size of Honshu, the main island of Japan—pretty big for a place that I had never really thought about before. It sits like a finger gently brushing the shoreline of Western Canada pointing north to Alaska. Driving through I realized just how sparsely populated and secluded the northern part really is.   ∴Forests out of Imaginary Places∴ It’s quite remarkable how the bright moss carpets…

    Adventure Ideas

Never Stop Wandering. Never stop wondering. An inspirational quote I’ve grown to love. I have been compiling a list of trip ideas for my lifetime, and in an effort to generate feedback , I’m publishing them today. The goal here is to initiate a discussion about places that you WILL go, because they call you, spark your imagination, and take you mind far away from the ordinary. So, here it goes: my life-plan, specifics aside, in no particular order. Forgive my short-hand 1. Greece: kayaking in Santorini+ Check out Athens 2. Cheap Trip: Prague, Vienna, Bratislava, Budapest 3. India: Taj Mahal, cuisine, spice tour 4. Berlin (2-3 days)+ Eastern European countries by train 5. Fairytales:…

    To . . . TORONTO

Toronto will always have a soft spot in my heart simply because, it’s where I got my feet wet. I had never been anywhere, outside of the country . I’m ashamed to admit that I hadn’t even ever been on an plane before. So, even though it was not too far North of home, Toronto was the perfect place to start because of it’s impressionable cleanliness, friendly locals and  many different places to explore . When they say that it’s one of the world’s most diverse cities, it’s not an exaggeration. You pick up on this when you walk the streets.  Never before had I noticed how dirty some of the…
